The transformation began with a full strip-out and re-sheeting, paving the way for a meticulously waterproofed foundation using the WEDI system. From there, we elevated the space with a timeless combination of limestone-look porcelain tiles across the floor and walls, delivering both warmth and durability. The wall tiles were applied to full height in the shower and 1200mm on remaining walls, with stack bond installation for clean visual symmetry.

The custom-built 1500mm-wide timber vanity becomes an instant focal point. Crafted from warm-toned timber and paired with a matte stone vessel basin, the vanity is complemented by brushed brass wall-mounted tapware and matching accessories. A polished-edge mirror enhances the sense of space and reflects the room’s natural light beautifully.

We introduced visual interest through a soft white herringbone tile pattern behind the vanity and toilet, playing against the linearity of the other surfaces and softening the overall palette. A semi-frameless glass shower with a pivot door and brass trim frames the generous 900 x 1200mm WEDI base, while a 300mm x 600mm tiled niche provides convenient and stylish storage.

The freestanding 1700mm bathtub sits gracefully under a frosted picture window, adding architectural elegance while preserving privacy. Above, brushed brass bath tapware is aligned with the shower fixtures for a cohesive finish. A matching towel rail and accessories complete the ensemble, ensuring both function and design integrity.

This renovation delivers not just a bathroom, but a tranquil retreat layered in luxury and custom detail. Every tile, fitting, and finish was selected to balance modern elegance with warmth—turning a practical space into a place of relaxation.

For the ensuite, we focused on balancing streamlined simplicity with rich materiality. Our goal was to create a serene and high-functioning space that felt naturally luxurious, anchored by handcrafted finishes and a harmonious palette.

The design centres around the custom 1200mm timber vanity, suspended from the wall to enhance floor space and visual flow. Its clean-lined joinery is softened by the warmth of natural timber grain, paired with a matte-finished stone basin. Brushed brass wall-mounted tapware and accessories provide an understated yet refined contrast, reinforcing the space’s cohesive tone.

A large shaving cabinet in matching timber tones offers both concealed and open storage, cleverly balancing form and function. Behind the vanity, white herringbone tiles introduce texture and softness, acting as a subtle focal point without overpowering the room.

We continued the limestone-look porcelain tiles from floor to ceiling on the remaining walls, including the generously proportioned walk-in shower. The WEDI waterproofing system ensures structural integrity behind the walls and beneath the custom tiled shower base. Within the shower, a full-width niche framed in brass trim adds an architectural feature, while keeping daily essentials neatly within reach.

Natural light floods the space through frosted glass windows on two elevations, preserving privacy while illuminating the textures and finishes. A set of olive-toned towels adds a touch of earthiness that plays beautifully off the neutral stone and timber.
